Happy Anniversary PHA (WA)
It is 35 years since a group of history professionals formed the Professional Historians and Researchers Association (PHR) in Western Australia. The first general meeting was held 8 February 1989 at the Battye Library. Over the next few months an interim committee refined the objectives and constitutional clauses, which were based on the NSW Professional Historians Association but deliberately widened to include those in the fields of humanities and social science research.
Our constitution came into effect on 1 July 1989 and the Inaugural AGM was held on 12 July 1989, 35 years ago today. You may recognise in this list the names of the people who attended. Happy Anniversary to us!
