The Silverchain Heritage Steering Committee is seeking a consultant to join their committee to provide advice and support the Silverchain Heritage Officer.
The committee meets four times a year, usually via Microsoft Teams but sometimes face to face. There may be other occasions throughout the year when you will be called on for advice. There will be remuneration for any time spent working with the committee (including attending meetings) or the Heritage Officer, via submitting invoices.
We are looking for someone who has experience with:
- collection management;
- applied historical research;
- oral history projects;
- and who understands the complexities of working with an organisation where history/heritage is not the core business.
The Silverchain Group has a history that spans 130 years in Western Australia and South Australia. There are also service centres in Qld, NSW and Victoria. The Silverchain Heritage Collection is a private collection housed in Brisbane Street, Perth. It consists primarily of documents and photographs with a small amount of objects. We use the EMu collection management system.
