After two years absence occasioned by COVID19, UnionsWA is again holding the annual May Day celebration on Fremantle Esplanade on Sunday 30 April 2023. The festival will kick off at 10am, with lots of activities and stalls. 

The Labour History Society will be holding a bookstall of titles from Interventions, a small publishing of radical and labour history books.  We will also be giving away free back copies of our journal Western Worker, which features local history writing. 

You’ll also see some glorious unions banners during the union march, which starts at 12 noon.
